B2B learning platform UX

Actionable UX strategy for higher engagement

Project for:

BuildWitt

We partnered with Buildwitt to conduct a comprehensive UX research and design project focused on improving their learning platform UX. Our goal was to understand their users’ needs, streamline workflows, and develop new features that aligned with both business objectives and user expectations.

By applying our human-centered design approach, we recommended and implemented solutions that enhanced user engagement, increased efficiency, and supported the growth of their learning platform.

Expertise

Our client needed a fresh look at the overall platform experience and an expert to guide them in the right direction. Our team provided strategy, research, and product design.

Client

BuildWitt is a marketing company that also has a learning product platform that allows construction companies to provide high quality training to their employees.

Timeline

Over a six-month engagement, our team partnered with Buildwitt to develop a comprehensive research strategy and design initiative aimed at improving their user experience and product efficiency. We worked closely with their internal teams to provide actionable insights and design recommendations that aligned with their long-term business objectives.

Challenge

Inconsistent screens affecting learning platform UX

Buildwitt was at a crossroads when we initially met with them. They recognized that the platform’s user experience was being hurt by inconsistency of elements and functionality across its app. Like many other growing platforms, the engineers had focused on building functionality before understanding user needs. The app needed to be able to scale, but it couldn’t until the UX was addressed.

Solution

Bring consistency & polish to learning platform through strategic UX

Our process began with an in-depth research phase, where we identified key pain points and user needs. Based on this research, we developed a strategic roadmap that prioritized design solutions to drive user engagement and optimize workflows. We collaborated with stakeholders across departments to ensure our strategy was aligned with the organization’s evolving goals.

Impact

Our work laid the groundwork for future developments and positively impacted their approach to user experience design.

Strategy session

We hosted the client’s team through an in-person strategy session where we guided them through determining the problem to be solved and how to solve it. We delivered user flows of four feature flows and initial screen sketches as a result of the work.

Component guide for engineers

We developed a component guide that served as a blueprint for their engineering team. This guide standardized UI elements and interactions, ensuring a consistent user experience across the product. By defining reusable components and design patterns, we not only improved the overall UX but also streamlined the development process.

Conducted research sessions with 9 users, uncovering 75% of critical usability issues.

Newly designed features for product

Our team worked closely with the client to design multiple new features aimed at enhancing the product’s functionality. One key feature we introduced was a new system for users to track their skills and certifications. This feature allowed users to easily input, update, and monitor their professional qualifications in real-time.
