Double A Labs is a B2B gamified virtual meeting software platform. The startup had grown the platform over several years and realized that there was a lack of consistency in both the design and use of components, impacting the overall user experience.
They asked Standard Beagle to help bring consistency and overall improve the experience of their virtual meeting software design.

Our team provided augmented resources to their team. Our designers worked directly with the product team, attending standups and frequently communicating with the Head of Product to understand requirements and quickly get up to speed on the platform.

Timeline
We worked intensely with Double A for 4 months. Our relationship ended following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and the slowdown in the tech economy.
Challenge
Consistent UI for virtual meeting software UX
Like many startups, Double A Labs had a strong and extensive engineering team supporting and building its platform. But over time, the leadership noticed that features were inconsistent throughout the platform. Lack of consistency in the UI can cause confusion in users as well as cause them lose trust.
The startup wanted to make sure they not only captured new customers, but also retain existing customers.
Solution
Component guide and UX approach
We recommended an intense, short-term project with Double A. Our designers were embedded in the team so they could communicate efficiently and learn the platform fully in a short amount of time.
We set out to create a component guide and also worked on multiple new features for the team that would be essential for short-term growth.

By designing a component guide for Double A Labs, the company was able to communicate a unified design language across their development team and improve their overall virtual meeting software UX.
Accessible and approachable
While working with the Double A Labs team, we placed a strong emphasis on accessibility in our designs. In our component guide as well as through the screens we delivered, we made sure to include WCAG principles so that the Double A team would implement designs that met standards.
