Complex health plan website development
Multi-site, multi-lingual, and scalable WordPress solution
Project for:
Community Health Choice
In this project we provided web development for a health plan website. This project was complex, because it was WordPress multi-site managing three separate themes, multi-lingual, hundreds of pages, and required a content approval system.
Expertise
Steel Advertising came to us for our expertise in website development. They managed the content and design for this project.
Client
Community Health Choice is a nonprofit managed care organization launched by the Harris Health System in Houston.
Timeline
We worked with Steel Advertising for three months to develop this project and launched with the client on time.
Challenge
Allow internal marketing team to manage and update website
Community Health Choice had an existing website that needed improvement. The organization needed a way to easily update and maintain the site within the strict quality policies required by the organization.
Solution
Develop a health plan website using CMS
We worked with Steel Advertising to recommend tech solutions for search, language translation, hosting, and more.
Initially, the client planned for the site to be built using Umbraco as a CMS, but during the design process, the decision was made to move to WordPress. We switched gears to identify the appropriate plugins to accomplish the same requirements.
Impact
Smooth, coordinated launch with IT
Multi-lingual website
The health plan website needed to be in English and Spanish. We used PolyLang for translations, and set up the site so that the client could add Vietnamese translations at a later date.
Three websites, managed in one place
The health plan website was actually three sites in one. We set up a WordPress multisite installation to manage the same theme across the three sites.
