Focus Fitness already had a pretty clear brand and marketing protocol, but the owner decided the gym’s website needed some fine-tuning. He was already employing Google Reviews, Yelp, and other marketing tools to engage with prospective clients, but he wanted to jump start his marketing efforts in order to reach his goal faster.
Grow the Focus Fitness client base so that he could bring his brand of quality, small-group training to more people.
The owner understood the value of professional user experience design. That’s why he turned to Standard Beagle to design a clear path for users to feel connected, find the information they needed, and keep the site fast.
We worked closely with Focus Fitness’ owner to design the right feel for the website by focusing on story-based marketing. We wanted to create a user experience so that visitors could “see” themselves working out in the gym.
In our process, we used Google Analytics to analyze how visitors were behaving on the site and where they were coming from. Then we designed the page flow to optimize that flow.
Additionally, we added story elements to help hook users: we added a home page video, success stories, and highlighted the training staff.
Since the redesign launched in fall 2017, traffic has steadily increased to the website and so have the number of focus fitness clients. The owner has seen an uptick in calls and website leads originating from Google and Yelp, who then go to his website.
As a result, the number of Focus Fitness clients has increased by 30 percent in 6 months.
